New! The Little Mermaid Pantomime Script

Fin-tastic news! We are thrilled to announce that THE LITTLE MERMAID pantomime script has made a splash and is now available for professional and amateur licensing world-wide.

'The Little Mermaid' is not a typical pantomime title. The classic story, first published in 1837 by Dutch author Hans Christian Andersen, tells the tail (sorry!) of a young mermaid who dreams of becoming human after falling in love with a human prince. The original book is a shade darker than the well-known and beloved 1989 Disney animated version. Instead of capturing her voice, the Sea Witch cuts out the mermaid's tongue and there isn't much of a happy ending either – not realising he was saved by the mermaid, the Prince choses to marry someone else and the mermaid dissolves into sea foam!

Much like Disney, we chose to slightly diverge from the original material to craft a humorous and heartfelt retelling of the story for modern audiences. The Little Mermaid • Synopsis

Aria the mermaid wants nothing more than to explore the surface world above against the wishes of her father King Neptune. Following a ferocious storm, the handsome Prince Evan is saved from the sea by the little mermaid and she falls instantly in love. Meanwhile in the murky depths of the ocean, the evil tentacled Octavia is plotting to seize the throne of Atlantis by stealing Aria's voice and Neptune's all-powerful trident. With the help of a crabby crustacean, a silly seagull and a whole shoal of fishy friends, will Aria find her true love on dry land and save both her heart and her home?
